“Santa Cecilia” Stefano Moderno
St Cecilia’s body was incorrupt when discovered in 1595. This sculpture, by Stefano Maderno who was struck by the Saint’s body when he saw it, depicts how the body was when discovered.
St. Cecilia’s body was incorrupt as well as many other saints, such as Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, Saint John Bosco, Saint Virginia Centurione, etc…
Some, if not many, of these bodies also produced a floral smell. If it’s not God’s doing, then what is it? Of course there are many scientific explanations, but why these people? People that have led a life full of sanctity and were full of Christ. These stories astound me so much! I am very surprised by these and hope to learn more. :)
